What Is The Word That Embodies Your Why For Keto and Exercise?

Happy Hump Day Everyone!!! It is day 8 of our Keto Diet and Fitness #30DayChallenge!!! We have officially completed one full week!!! How did the first week go? What challenges and successes have you experienced so far? What questions do you have?

Today I just want to make sure that you have identified your why for taking on this challenge. The reason I am asking is because it is your why that will keep you grounded, motivated and will catapult you to your desired end goal. My why summed up in ONE word is Healthy. I want to be healthy in every area of my life so I can be actively engaged with my family, make an IMPACT in my sphere of influence, to fulfill my God given purpose for living and to live long enough to be actively engaged with my grandchildren, great grandchildren and beyond. All of these things cannot be done well if I’m not healthy.

So my ask of you today is to identify your why and embody that why in ONE word. This will help you to focus on meeting your goals!!! Write this word on a sticky note and put it on your bathroom mirror so you can be reminded daily! If you don’t mind sharing type your ONE word in the comments below or send me a personal message.

Your December 2018 #Keto #30DayChallenge Starts TODAY!!!

Welcome to our December 2018 #30DayChallenge! I’m excited that you are taking this #Keto and #IF challenge with me! I know this is the time of year that is the hardest to stay on track for a number of reasons from holiday parties to family gatherings and the holiday blues that some of us may experience. For these reasons and more we have to be intentional about sticking to our plan for this month by remembering our WHY!

We will continue to eat a #Ketogenic diet that includes eating clean with no processed foods & no added sugar or starches. This also means eating moderate amounts of lean protein, generous amounts of healthy fats including nuts and seeds, coconut oil, olive oil, avocados, grass fed butter and more. We will also eat vegetables & low glycemic fruit such as blueberries, raspberries and strawberries! In addition if you want to take your regimen to the next level eat your meals during an 8 hour window(12-8, 1-9 or 2-10). The benefits of intermittent fasting is life changing and I am a witness! This month I lost 13 pounds, my cholesterol numbers are normal and I no longer have pre-diabetes! Our other goals for this challenge is to exercise (3-5 days weekly), eliminate/reduce stress in your life and commit to getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep daily! In addition I recommend you switching to eating organic and/or Non-GMO food. Below are labels that show you how you can identify foods that are organic and/or Non-GMO.

If you are on the fence about starting this challenge do what you can. Start small by committing to exercising at least 30 minutes or more per day for at least 3 days per week and by eliminating all processed foods & added sugars.

Self-Care Matters!!! #WorldMentalHealthDay

Happy #HumpDay! Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay!!! In light of that I thought it would be critical to share the importance of making #selfcare a priority. Self-care is key to you staying active & sharp in the game of life. One thing I’ve made a priority is exercising daily and striving to get at least 10,000 #fitbit steps in a day, eating healthier, getting adequate sleep and reducing stress. Why??? Not just for my physical #health but also for my #mentalhealth.

It has been proven that aerobic #exercise (walking, jogging, running, swimming, dancing, cycling..etc.) helps reduce depression, anxiety and helps in releasing feel good hormones that improve your mood. What are your self-care #goals for today? Remember its not just about your physical fitness but your mental and emotional fitness as well! If you are standing on the sidelines of #life, its time to get back in the game!

It’s #Goal Monday! What is Your Diet and Fitness Goal for TODAY?

It’s #Goal Monday and I hope you are ready to hit the ground running on a great & healthy day and week! As I highlighted in my last blog I believe it’s essential to take this #keto fitness journey one day at a time. Many of you have shared with me that you have tried many diets in the past but have failed simply because it’s difficult to maintain and sustain that way of eating. Many fad diets are extreme and unhealthy, but I truly believe and the research suggests that the ketogenic diet is healthy, sustainable and produces results.

Now back to our goals!!! What is your goal for today? As you can see in my infographic above my goal is to have at least 60 minutes of exercise, eat keto foods only & to get at least 7 hours of sleep tonight. When setting your goals start off small, especially if you haven’t been active in the past or if you are coming off of a long break. The biggest takeaway is to start where you are. Forget about yesterday and don’t worry about tomorrow. Stay present in this moment and do what it takes to meet your goals for today. God’s grace is sufficient for you for TODAY. You CAN do it!!!

Take Your Fitness and Keto Journey 1 Day at a Time!

Happy Saturday my #30DayChallenge Fam!!! I want to hear from you! What goals did you set for yourself this week? Did you achieve them? Why or why not? Listen, whether you did or not one thing I’ve learned is that you have to take this fitness journey one day at a time. Begin by setting a daily goal of exercise and eating healthy keto meals/IF and go from there. Believe me the results will follow.

My goal for this week was to just be consistent. As you can see in the infographic above, I met my fitness goals 5 out of 5 days. As a result I lost 7 pounds in one week. Literally 1 pound a day. Consistency is the key to reach any short or long term goal you may set. Just take it one day at a time! I did! πŸ’―
