The Power of Intermittent Fasting!

Happy Saturday Everyone!!! For the next 3 days leading up to the start of our January 2, 2018 #30DayChallenge launch I’m going to be posting some videos and other resources on intermittent fasting to educate you on its benefits and how it actually works. This one is only 4 minutes long so check it out it can literally change your total health picture. I personally intermittent fast daily and have an 8 hour eating window generally from 12-8pm. Utilizing IF and eating a #ketogenic diet is what has helped me to get out of the pre-diabetic range and to lose 35 pounds in 2017. Of course always consult with your doctor before starting this or any other diet or exercise plan. I am not a dietitian or nutritionist I am just sharing what has worked for me.


My doctors have been amazed at my progress especially when they look at my family history of which includes high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. Before I took charge of my health I was well on my way to developing those health conditions but through these diet and exercise changes (mainly diet) all of these have been reversed and all of my health numbers are normal. Am I done yet NOPE! I still have a ways to go but I’m grateful that I’m going in the right direction. I will meet my ultimate goal in 2018. #NoDoubt

Here is a video by Dr. Jason Fung who is an expert on Fasting, Diabetes and Kidney Health. He has 2 books that I highly recommend you getting on Audible (an audiobook) or at Amazon entitled “The Obesity Code” and “The Complete Guide To Fasting”. It literally has changed my HEALTH LIFE!

Back at The Gym & in Goal Setting Mode for 2018!!!

#TGIF!!! I hope you are having a great time resting and enjoying this holiday season with your #friends and #family. Well I decided to go back to the #gym today to burn off ALL of these #Christmas holiday calories that I acquired! It’s ok to splurge for a day or so but don’t stay there! 🚫 Are you ready to join me on my next #Keto #30DayChallenge starting on 1/2/18!? I know I’m ready!!! By the #GRACE of God I was able to lose 35 pounds in 2017 but I’m believing and setting goals to reach my ultimate weight goal in 2018!!! πŸ’―

I also got out of the pre-diabetic range on my A1C, my total cholesterol numbers are normal and I dropped from a 3x to a L size in clothes. I don’t have to buy any more plus sized clothes!!! Goodbye Lane Bryant!✌🏾 My back, shoulder and hip pain is gone! As far as I’m concerned its been a pretty successful year health wise. I give glory to #God for it and I’m thankful that he opened my eyes to the benefits of intermittent fasting and eating a ketogenic diet. It’s Weigh In Day! Plus #Keto & #IF Talk!

Happy Monday Everyone! It is day 10 of our #30DayChallenge for this month!!! I am so excited about it because I can already see progress on the scale and in my clothes! Every 10 days in this challenge we will weigh in and check on our progress. Weigh in either today or tomorrow morning and let me know what progress you have made so far this month. I am super excited to report that I’ve already lost 5 pounds this month!!!

I have lost 5 pounds by consistently implementing both the #Ketogenic way of eating and the intermittent fasting pattern of eating where I eat 2 meals within a 6-8 hour window from 2-8pm or 12-8pm daily. I have also consistently exercised for at least 60 minutes a day. Our December #30DayChallenge Starts Today!!!

Welcome to our December 2017 #30DayChallenge! I’m excited that you are starting this month off right by taking this challenge with me! Can you believe that #Christmas AND the #New Year is right around the corner??? So let’s be absolutely intentional about meeting our #goals for this month!!! πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

We will continue to eat a #Ketogenic diet that includes eating clean with no processed foods & no added sugar or starches. This also means eating moderate amounts of lean protein, generous amounts of healthy fats including nuts and seeds, coconut oil, olive oil, avocados, grass fed butter and more. We will also eat vegetables & low glycemic fruit such as blueberries, raspberries and strawberries! Our other goals for this challenge is to exercise (3-5 days weekly), eliminate/reduce stress in your life and commit to getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep daily! In addition I recommend you switching to eating organic and/or Non-GMO food. Below are labels that show you how you can identify foods that are organic and/or Non-GMO.

If you are on the fence about starting this challenge do what you can. Start small by committing to exercising at least 30 minutes or more per day for at least 3 days per week and by eliminating all processed foods & added sugars.
