Weekend Prep For New 30 Day Challenge Starting On Monday!

Happy Saturday Everyone! We have reached the 30th day of our January 30 day challenge! Tomorrow you can take a break but don’t over do it! Use tomorrow to get prepared for our February #30DayChallenge! So how did you do on the January challenge? Let me know how it went through responding to this post or by sending me a personal message. Are you ready to eat clean and exercise consistently during the month  of February? Well I am! I challenge you to eat clean with no processed foods during the month of February and to exercise at least 3-5 days per week! Lastly don’t forget to get at least 8 hours of sleep per day. Getting adequate sleep is paramount to you kicking your weight loss into full gear! Tomorrow I will give you preview of how we will interact and support each other in order to stay on track. We have to make a conscious decision say NO to everything that will try to distract US from meeting OUR goals in February! I believe in you and I am praying for success. Never give up! Don’t stop until you meet your goals!!!

Food addiction is running rampant in our society. Mainly because of the processed food phenomenon that has tried to unilaterally take over the food marketplace. Happy Monday Everyone! It’s day 10 of our January 30 day challenge! Tomorrow is our 1st weigh in day for this month! We will do 3 weigh ins (once every 10 days) during this month’s challenge.  So don’t forget to weigh in first thing in the morning to tell me how you did during this past week! Question? What breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner plan do you have for today? What is your exercise plan for the week? Go ahead and write down your goals/plan for the week and get your bag packed tonight for tomorrow! Remember this if you fail to plan then you inadvertently plan to fail! So get that plan on paper or on your Smartphone and/or tablet and let’s make this 2nd week of the challenge great, healthy and active!!! I’m praying and believing for your success this week! Let’s get it!!!

What’s On Your Plate Today? I Beg You… Eat Clean!

Great Day Everyone! How is the 30 Day Challenge going for you? Make sure you stick to the plan of eating lean meat, veggies, nuts, beans, seeds and fruit today with no processed food or starches. Do you know why it’s important not to eat processed food? The reason is it’s not healthy and can cause cancer, diabetes, inflammation, blood pressure and a plethora of other issues with our health if we continue to consume them. It also causes us to gain weight, even the so-called low calorie mystery food, you know the ones with all of the names you cannot pronouce on the ingredient label! When you eat processed food your body has no idea what to do with it because it’s not real food, so guess what happens??? Your body ends up storing it as fat and often times we overeat those foods because your body is unable to figure out if you are even full. I will share more data regarding the impact of processed foods in future posts but I just wanted to introduce it briefly today. So… What’s for lunch, snack and dinner today? I ask that question for 2 reasons. #1 for accountability and #2 to give everyone else the lunch, dinner and snack ideas we all have. Let’s collaborate, share ideas and make this month’s challenge great!

It’s Time For The Exercise Check-in!

Happy Tuesday! It’s Day 4 of our 30 Day Challenge & now It’s time for the EXERCISE CHECK IN! Who got it in today and what exercises did you do? I went to Planet Fitness today with my FitBit device and started with a 15 min warm-up on the treadmill, then I did about 30 minutes of strength training my abs & arms and then I finished up with 25 minutes on the ellliptical trainer. If you haven’t exercised yet tell me what exercises you are going to do tonight! No matter how small get in at least 20-30 mins today. Something is better than nothing but tomorrow I want you to be intentional about getting it in! You are WORTH it!

Eat Clean, Exercise & Be Healthy! #LetsGo

Happy Sunday Everyone! I hope you have had a great weekend! Mine is going well as I watch Cam Newton lead the Carolina Panthers to their 15th win of the season to secure their home field advantage in time for the NFL playoffs! BUT… (Clears Throat) We are not here to talk about FOOTBALL! So it is day 2 of our 30 day challenge! How are things going so far? Are you staying committed to the plan? I sure hope so! So since it’s the weekend I thought it would be appropriate to speak to the importance of staying completely stocked with healthy foods. So here are some tips going into this work week.

1) Go shopping weekly:
Because you are eating clean you will want to shop once a week and get enough for at least 7 days. Especially because you want to make sure you have everything you need to have a successful week. Also you don’t want to go beyond a 7 day supply so you can ensure that your food supply does not go bad.

2) How you shop in the grocery store is key:
When you’re shopping you want to make sure that you only go around the perimeter of the store in other words stay on the outside lanes moving from the deli section to the fruit & vegetable section, the meat section the dairy section and on to the freezer section for frozen fruit and vegetables. With the exception of going to the aisle for beans, nuts, olive oil, peanut/almond butter, packaged fruit & etc. that is on your approved 30 day challenge food list.

3) Why is this shopping process so important? 
The reason this is key is so you will always have an ample food supply of healthy food on deck to reduce the temptation to get unhealthy food on impulse. If you get tempted you can go in your fully stocked food pantry and grab something that can satisfy that craving guilt free.

4) One final but important note:
As important as it is to ensure that you have and keep a healthy food supply on a weekly basis it is also equally important to make sure that you purge your house of unhealthy food. If it is in your house that is going to be a source of temptation. So completely purge your house of any temptations that could possibly get you off track! Let’s have a successfully active and healthy week! You CAN do it!
