Happy Friday Everyone! I hope you had a phenomenally healthy week! Today is day 20 of our 30 day challenge! That means we literally have 10 days left to meet our goal for August! Is it just me or does it seem like this month is going by so fast??? How are things going? What challenges are you running into? Today is our 2nd weigh in day for August so weigh first thing this morning and let me know how you did! I can’t wait to get your feedback! Email me at info@Monicaakerele.com and give me the 411! 🙂 Just know this whatever the scale says you are still a winner! Weight loss and getting healthy is not an event it is a journey! Rome was not built overnight! It is a process!!! So hang in there even if the scale doesn’t reflect the weight you hoped it would. Make the next 10 days on this month’s challenge count. 1st Weigh In For August 2015!

Happy Tuesday All! It’s day 10 of our August 30 day challenge! Tomorrow is our 1st weigh in day for this month! We will do 3 weigh ins (once every 10 days) during this month’s challenge.  So don’t forget to weigh in first thing in the morning to tell me how you did during this past week! Question? What breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner plan do you have for tomorrow? What is your exercise plan for the week? Go ahead and write down your goals/plan for the week and get your bag packed tonight for tomorrow! Remember this if you fail to plan then you inadvertently plan to fail! So get that plan on paper or on your Smartphone and/or tablet and let’s make this 2nd week of the challenge great, healthy and active!!! I’m praying and believing for your success this week! Do I HAVE to EXERCISE???

Happy Monday Everyone! It’s Day 9 of our 30 day challenge & the answer to this question is an unequivocal yes!!! If the truth be told you can’t afford not to exercise. With the rise in healthcare costs the cheaper option is to make your investment up front in healthy foods, time spent exercising, gym memberships, personal trainers, exercise DVDs, FitBit devices (Surge, Charge etc…). I have to push through the temptation and the excuses not to exercise everyday! It is a fight for your life, literally. Exercise is anywhere between 20-30% of what aids in weight loss & your food intake/sleep is the other 70-80%. All 3 elements are key in you seeing lasting results.

Right now I am on vacation and I promise you the last thing that I want to do is exercise BUT if I want to keep from gaining weight while on vacation I’ve got to get it in at the gym or outside. Saturday and Sunday I did a walk/run on the beach and it was a great workout, sweat and all. I plan to get in some swimming today and more walk/running on the beach. I have to give props to my husband for challenging me to do that. I believe having a workout partner is essential to helping you stay motivated to exercise daily but they have to be in it to win it too!!! When you have days like this where you are questioning whether you should exercise let your answer be an uncompromising yes and get added motivation from someone who can hold you accountable with your exercising. This person could be someone who also wants to lose weight or get fit or someone who has already traveled down the path you are now on. That person is key to your success so take full advantage of the support that person can provide! Take the time to secure your accountability partner today! So now there are truly No Excuses! We have 21 days left on our challenge!!!

Are You Motivated To Lose Weight? If Not Read This!

Happy Thursday!!!! It’s day 5 of our 30 day challenge! How are things going with you on the challenge? I pray things are going well. I know for some of you including me, sometimes you can get discouraged on your fitness journey. Every one of us have been at the place of discouragement & apathy concerning changing our eating & exercise habits. We have all tried to search for the motivation to get back into the game and finally be consistent on this journey to weight loss. So today I want to motivate you with several reasons why you should stay on track and eat healthier, exercise and/or lose weight. Here are some possible benefits below:

1) Your health picture will change dramatically

A) Reduce High Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar Levels, Cholesterol

B) Increases Fertility in Women impacted by PCOS

C) Prevent or Reverse Type 2 Diabetes

D) Reduce the risk for developing Strokes, Colon Cancer & Heart Attacks

E) Improves Sleep Apnea

F) Improves breathing

G) Reduces the risk of developing other chronic diseases that are obesity related

2) You will live a longer & fuller life

A) Increase your probability of living long enough to see your children, grandchildren & great grandchildren grow up

B) You will have more energy & be able to remain active & travel freely without constraints

C) Reduction of the need for medicine & physical therapy

D) Be a great example & model for your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family members & friends

E) Save money in the long run since you will not need as much medicine or Hospital/Surgical visits

3) Boost in your mental/emotional health

A) Exercising actually helps you to relieve stress & tension

B) Increases your self-esteem & outlook on life

C) Reduces the risk for developing depression

4) Bring God glory with our Bodies!

Our bodies were given to us by God. We only get 1 so let’s do our best to keep it in great shape by being a good steward over it.

With God’s help, a made up mind & consistency You CAN do it! Let’s Get it!

What Are Your Goals For August?

Happy Tuesday!!! I pray all is going well. It’s day 3 of our #30DayChallenge!!!! I want to know what are your goals for this month’s challenge? What is your exercise and sleep plan? My goal is to lose 8-12 pounds in the month of August. I will get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per day and my exercise plan is to workout twice a day for an hour at least 5-6 days a week.
