Just Say No To This! It’s A Matter of Your Health!

Happy Friday!!! It’s Day 19 of our challenge! I hope you are getting it in at the gym and on the healthy and whole foods tip! As promised here is an article on the dangers of eating artificial sweetners. Make sure you read this article in its entirety & share with me your thoughts on it. We have to become knowledgable on the foods and substances we are putting in to our body. Just because it is FDA approved doesn’t mean much at all! Be informed and try at all costs to eat clean whole foods from the earth not something made in a lab & tested on animals! I will be sharing more about other ingredients to watch out for soon. Let’s make the rest of this challenge great! Stay focused and let’s endure until the end.

Let’s get it!

Take Your Life, Your Time & Your Diet Back! — February 22, 2014

Take Your Life, Your Time & Your Diet Back!

Happy Saturday Everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! It is Day 13 of our 30 Day Challenge & I just want to take the time to applaud all of you who have made the decision to take this eating clean and exercise challenge with me. I know from experience that it truly is a challenge to break away from eating sugar, white starches and processed foods but I promise you it is well worth the effort and the commitment. Even if you find that you don’t lose a lot of weight on this challenge, the fact that you have changed your eating habits will do your body and health a lot of good in the long run.

I’m a believer that the consumption of processed foods & the lack of exercise is what has caused the obesity epidemic across the globe. There are other varying factors that have brought us to this point including busy lifestyles, misplaced priorities, extended work hours, emotional eating, video games, smartphone/tablet & other mobile technology, environmental factors, the list goes on & on… But we are not falling for the okie doke or this mode of operation any longer!!! We are taking our lives, our time & our diets back!!!

Check out this short YouTube video link below on why we should stay away from processed foods. Let it motivate you to continue on this path to eating clean! Also try your best to stay away from the ingredients listed on this picture. I will share more in depth on the effects of consuming these additives during our challenge. We cannot put our stomachs/health in the hands of the government or the FDA and expect them to take care of us and our best interests. We have to put our trust in God and go back to eating what He created for us to eat from the EARTH not what was created in a LAB! We have to be more intentional about the way we live life and what we consume to ensure we become better stewards of the bodies God has given to us! Are you with me? Share your thoughts of the video with me when you get the chance. I will be sharing more of these type videos as we go along. It’s time to renew our thinking and go to the next level.

Let’s get it!

What Are Your Exercise Goals? — February 19, 2014

What Are Your Exercise Goals?

Happy Hump Day!!!How are things going?! Well its Day 10 of our #30DayChallenge & I don’t know about you but I’m turning up my workout for the last 20 days that we have left on this challenge. What are you going to do differently to ensure you meet your goals for this challenge?

I absolutely recommend you getting a workout partner that will challenge you and not be a yes man or woman but will push you to stay consistent with working out and will challenge you to go above and beyond an ordinary workout.  For some of you that may mean getting a personal trainer,  or a gym membership like Planet Fitness for $10 a month where you can get a personalized workout plan with an onsite trainer.

As for me I have a friend who is also in it to win it in this war over obesity  and that is Shayla Scott. She pushes me to get it in when I don’t want to! Yes even I have days, weeks and months where I’m just not feeling it. Lol. I just have to keep it real but accountability helps keep you in check and ensures you stay successful!  So what is your accountability plan? Let me hear from you!!!

Let’s get it!!!

The 30 Day Challenge Begins!!! — February 9, 2014

The 30 Day Challenge Begins!!!

Great Day Everyone! I’m excited to announce that our next #30DayChallenge starts tomorrow!  Monday, February 10th!!! I hope you are onboard and ready to go hard on this next challenge! Here are the details!

The goal for this challenge is to eat clean that means no processed foods. Here are the acceptable foods for this challenge:

1) Lean meats including chicken, turkey & lean cuts of beef and pork. Turkey or Pork Bacon with no Nitrites or Nitrates. Target & Trader Joes sells this as well as Whole Foods Market. You can also have Greek Yogurt & Eggs.
2) Vegetables
3) Fruit
4) Beans, peas, hummus
5) Nuts
6) Drinks: Water, unsweetened almond milk, whey or soy protein for a breakfast shake or smoothie, coffee & hot tea. You can drink coffee or tea without a sweetener or you can use 1-2 teaspoons of honey as your sweetener. But limit it to once per day. On this challenge I really want to eliminate all artificial sweeteners as studies suggest that they are more harmful to your health as originally suspected. Strive to drink at least 1 gallon of water per day or more!

Let’s get it!!!
